New guides and tours for Gusen

In recent weeks, six new guides have been trained at the Mauthausen and Gusen Memorials for the combined tour "Mauthausen - Gusen: What remained and what disappeared".

While a memorial was set up at the former Mauthausen "main camp" after 1945, the similarly sized Gusen "branch camp", four kilometers away, disappeared almost completely from public memory. The combined tour Mauthausen - Gusen discusses the history of the National Socialist concentration camps in Mauthausen. In Gusen, the history after 1945 is then discussed, as well as the struggle for appropriate remembrance.
Since this year, the former roll call site in Gusen can also be visited during this format.
