New Information Brochure on the Gusen Memorial Participation Process

With the developments prompted by the Republic of Austria’s purchase of land that once formed part of the Gusen concentration camp, the Mauthausen Memorial recently produced a new information brochure on the expansion and redesign of the existing memorial site in Gusen.
Over the coming years, all the new plots of land will be redesigned as memorial sites. The brochure covers the key historical facts about the sites, current developments and the ongoing participation process. Two maps provide an overview of the development of the Gusen Memorial in Langenstein and of the ‘Bergkristall’ tunnel complex in St. Georgen an der Gusen. The brochure also explains the necessary safety measures being carried out at the sites by the Burghauptmannschaft Österreich.
The brochure is available in German and English free of charge from the Mauthausen and Gusen Memorials.
