Day of the Monument 2022

On 25 September, as part of Austria’s ‘Day of the Monument’, a special tour titled ‘Gusen Through Time’ took place on the site of the former Gusen I concentration camp.

Robert Vorberg, curator of the Mauthausen Memorial, led the tour and not only explained historical events but also provided information about the current participation process, which was launched following the purchase of central areas of the former Gusen concentration camp.

Participants were given the opportunity to visit the former roll call square and other areas of the memorial site that were once crime scenes, and to discuss these together as a group.
